Constitutional Court

The constitutional court of Uzbekistan reviews the constitutionality of laws or other acts passed by the Oliy Majlis, presidential decrees or other enactments of the state authority.
The Constitutional Court consists of 7 judges, including a judge from the Republic of Karakalpakstan, elected by the Oliy Majlis, on recommendation of the president, for a 5-year period.

Supreme Courts (Highest Instance)

The Supreme Court of the Republic of Uzbekistan is the highest judicial instance in Uzbekistan. The court consists of a plenum, civil, criminal and a martial board. The Supreme Court of the Republic of Uzbekistan has the right to supervise the administration of justice by the Supreme Court of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, as well as by regional, city, town and district courts
