Supreme Courts (Highest Instance)
The Supreme Court is the highest judicial instance and final court of appeal in Uganda. The Court consists of a Chief Justice and 6 other judges. The jurisdiction of the Supreme Court is limited to hearing criminal and civil appeals from the Court of Appeal. In case of Constitutional matters , a full bench of members is required.

Appellate Courts
The Court of Appeal hears appeals from the High Court. The court has original Jurisdiction in matters of constitutionality, acting as a constitutional court.

The High Court has unlimited jurisdiction in both criminal and civil cases. In addition, it hears appeals from magistrates' courts and suprevises these courts. The High Court is divided into Civil, Criminal, Commercial, Family and Circuit Divisions.
